PRIVACY POLICY — Langaj

Langaj is operated by Lingo Fluent LLC (“Langaj,” “we,” “us,” “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Langaj mobile app and our website (together, the “Services”).

1) Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account information (optional): If you create an account, we may collect a display name, email address, and profile photo (depending on what you choose to provide and what your sign-in provider shares).
• Learning information: language preferences, learning progress, and related stats used to provide and personalize learning features.
• Community content (16+ only): posts, comments, reactions, and any content you choose to share through community features.
• Support communications: information you provide when contacting support.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, log and diagnostic data, and app/website interactions.
• Push notification token: a device token used to deliver notifications (not your phone number).
• Advertising and analytics identifiers: such as device advertising identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID / IDFA), cookie/local storage identifiers on the website, and information about ad impressions and interactions.

1.3 Information From Third Parties

• Sign-in providers: If you use Apple or Google sign-in, we receive information from them (such as a unique account identifier and, depending on your settings, your name and email).
• Analytics providers: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the Services are used and to improve performance.
• Advertising partners: We show ads through Google AdMob (in-app) and Google AdSense (website). AdMob may also serve ads from other networks via mediation (including Meta). These partners may collect identifiers and interaction data to deliver ads, measure performance, limit frequency, and prevent fraud. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalized.

2) AI Features (AI Tutor and AI-Generated Content)

Some features use AI (for example, the AI Tutor and AI-generated learning content).

What we process: When you use the AI Tutor, we process your messages and may include limited context such as your display name and language-learning stats/progress to personalize responses.

AI providers: We use third-party AI providers (such as Google Gemini and OpenAI/ChatGPT services) to generate AI responses.

No training by us: We do not use your AI Tutor chats to train our own AI models.

Important: Do not submit sensitive information (e.g., government IDs, financial account numbers, highly sensitive health data) into AI features.

3) How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services (including personalization and troubleshooting).
• Deliver AI features and learning content.
• Operate community features and enforce community rules.
• Send notifications and service communications (including reminders if enabled).
• Show ads, measure performance, prevent fraud, and maintain the security of the Services.
• Comply with law and protect our rights, users, and the public.

4) How We Share Information

We may share information with:

• Service providers/processors that help us run the Services (for example: hosting, analytics such as Firebase, push notification delivery, customer support tools, AI providers, and advertising partners such as AdMob/AdSense and mediated networks).
• Legal and safety recipients when required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.
• Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.

We do not share your AI Tutor chats with advertisers for ad targeting.

5) Community Features (Posting/Commenting is 16+)

Community posting and commenting are restricted to users 16 years of age or older. We ask users to confirm they are 16+ before enabling community posting/commenting. We do not collect date of birth for this purpose.

If you post in the community, your content and display name may be visible to other users depending on the feature and settings.

6) Data Retention

We retain information only as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business purposes such as security, fraud prevention, compliance, and dispute resolution.

• AI Tutor chats: AI Tutor chat content is deleted automatically no later than 12:00 AM Eastern Time each day. Users may delete chats sooner in the app.
• Backups/logs: Limited residual copies may persist briefly in backups or security logs and will be removed according to our normal retention cycles.
• Account and community data: If you delete your account, we delete your account data and delete associated community posts/comments, subject to limited retention required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
• Ads/analytics data: Advertising and analytics partners may retain data according to their own retention settings and policies.

7) Your Choices and Rights

• Account deletion: You can delete your account in the app. If you need help, contact support@langaj.app.
• Notifications: You can enable/disable notifications through your device or in-app settings (if available).
• EEA/UK/Switzerland: Where required, we request consent for advertising and analytics identifiers/cookies. You can change choices through our consent controls (where available).

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing. To make a request, contact support@langaj.app.

8) Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

If you are in the EEA/UK, we process personal data under these legal bases:

• Contract: to provide the Services you request (learning features, AI Tutor, account features).
• Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the Services, prevent fraud/abuse, and maintain reliable operations.
• Consent: where required for certain advertising/analytics identifiers and optional communications.
• Legal obligation: where we must comply with laws and regulations.

9) International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

10) Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure.

11) Children’s Privacy

The Services are not intended for children under 13. Community posting/commenting is restricted to users 16+. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact support@langaj.app and we will take appropriate steps.

12) Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date.
